Initially engaged as an Escrow Associate to work with developers, builders, and bankers to complete interim property closings and train new Escrow Associates on front and back end processing procedures. Promoted to HUD Specialist in August 2005 to act as the primary contact for Cheldan Homes account and coordinate 150-200 closings a month with their CFO and bankers. I also collaborated on a pilot project to provide thank you notes to 280 endowment donors from 560 undergraduate scholarship recipients and trained DEA staff on the concept of endowments.Įmployed as an Advancement Specialist to manage external relations for ESG and research and review all SMU endowments to ensure correct endowment name and legal fund usage across the university's schools and areas. I increased reporting from 720 to 900+ endowments and created specialized reporting for over 100 VIP donors. I streamlined the process and oversaw the completion of hundreds of annual endowment reports by training and collaborating with staff in six schools on data collection and creation of donor reports. Promoted to Endowment Stewardship Specialist in August 2007 to oversee the annual stewardship reporting. I additionally managed student workers, temporary staff, and two indirect reports. Prepared and edited Resettlement Registration Forms documenting family compositions, persecution history, credibility & special needs assessments, general histories of countries of origin, and legal analyses of the refugees’ claims based on international refugee and human rights law. Seconded on a short-term assignment to UNHCR Nairobi to assess the eligibility of urban refugees for the US Refugee Admissions Program and collect refugee testimony through individual and family interviews. Helped applicants establish that they met the legal threshold to qualify for US resettlement and presented case files to US Citizenship and Immigration Services for final adjudication.
